My Feelings on the Video I Had Watched and China

I have so much to share today about class. We finished watching the video I have been talking about in my passed blogs. I thought that the video was very educational to me because it showed me what’s going on in the world and how women are treated. Lots of places over the world women don’t have enough power to speak their minds and men rule them or men are in charge of what they do. I felt really bad for them and how they are treated. Our class was also talking about how in china in the city you it is legal to have two children now. I’m so happy for them because now the population will go up a lot because there is lots of elders. Now that people can have more kids when their parents get old their kids can help them. Over all I thought class when well and I am looking forward for the next class.

How To Help A Person Life Be Better

A few days ago my teacher talked about this website called Kiva.org and I’m going to tell you some things about it. First of all this website is for people who need money for important things and they don’t have enough money for it. There are over hundreds stories of people looking for loans to grow business or switch to clean energy, and even go to school. This website you can make a loan to the borrower of your choice and you get repaid by that person. You can even repeat what you did and when you get your money back you can look for another person and give the same money and loan that money to them. This website in my opinion is a great website. They do pay you back and you can see how long it would take also.

While I was on this Website I found a woman named Jeannette. She is forty-six years old, a mother to five children, and married. She has three girls and two boys. Jeannette has been selling clothing, shoes and bags for a while. She has been doing that for more than twenty years with some help, they all work as retailers. This group is here to help support the members and to provide a system of peer pressure.  Once Jeannette gets the money she will use her loan to by many bags, a large amount of clothing, and five boxes of shoes. When she gets the money her profits will help her to provide for day to day expresses, healthcare and schooling for her children. She lives in Senegal it is the westernmost point in Africa. This country is slightly smaller the South Dakota and it is mainly low-lying country, with a semideseart area in the north and northeast and forests in the southwest.

Another person I have found is Eugenia. She is forty-three years old and is a single mother. She lives with her daughter Maritza and her granddaughter Britani. Britani is five years old and is going to the local public school where they live. Eugenia needs this money because she needs to expand her business and make more money in order to cover her household’s basic needs. Her business is at a small stall at a town market, where she sells food like fruit and vegetables. She has been doing this for over twenty-six years because this is her only source of income. Eugenia lives in Tulsan, Ecuador which in this region generally lacks access to financial services. This loan is made to help these vulnerable populations improve their lives and set up sustainable businesses.

Now that I saw these people I see how the world can be so difficult for people and how their lives in where they live can be tough to live there. I think this website is the best for those people and I bet they feel the same way about this website like I do. Without this website or any other website like this their live would be more difficult for them. So I will definitely loan money to these people and more to help them out because if I was in their shoes I know I hope people would make loans.

More about India and how they Treat Women

Today in class was so much fun. Our class still watched the same video but we talked more about it and I learned more things about it. One of the things I learned was in India that they made a law that Pre-Natural sex determination (boy or girl before births not done. It is a punishable act. This law isn’t only in India, it is also in many other countries but the video just mainly focus on India. Knowing this now bothers me because I thought that it was so strange to hear that as a law in some countries. Speaking about India the video said that teaching girls proper jobs or training girls other things will make them more valuable in the family and show men that girls aren’t just baby making machines. Over all I think this video teaches us so much more about what’s going on in the world and how so lucky I am to live where I do and have a great school education.

Things i have learn about Japan and India

In class today my teacher was enough to let us watch a video and pause at the spot we need to know. Thank you teacher by the way that help a lot. Anyway we were learning about Japan and India and about their population. For example Japan population is expected to drop by half of its population by the next century. This is because one out of three people will retire and that elders over sixty outnumbers kids under four. In India there is Taj Mahal a famous building that was made for a thirty year old woman who died by giving birth to her eight child. In a state called Uttar Pradesh and it is normal in that state women will give birth too many kids so they can have boys. They do this because when you get old and you’re a boy later in life you will take care of your family and when you’re a girl you be married off and leave the family to take care of your husband family. The men will make their wives have many babies even if they almost die and if not they will hurt them. The men don’t even get in trouble for this which I think is so wrong. They also have many kids because one to every ten kids die before age five.  The women also have no saying in most of their life. They have arrange marriage and when they are married their husband will say how many kids because what I have said before about boys.

The Big Test

Today was the day, it was the big test day. Now I’m not going to lie I know I didn’t get a hundred percent, but hey I tried. The multiple choice questions weren’t as hard as I thought it was. The hardest part of the test was the first part. Yes I know it’s not good to say that but OMG it was hard. We had ten minutes to find ten questions on the first part. I tried I did but on the website I didn’t know where everything was. I hope that’s the last time for a test we have to do somethings like that. On a different part of the test you had to write three different things for a question and I really didn’t know it so I doodled on the test to help me think. I do that on a lot of tests I just hope the teacher doesn’t mind. I’m so happy I got that test over with and hopefully it won’t do something major on my grade.

Fellings About The Test

On Thursday we will have a test and our teacher said it will be really hard. I’m going to study so much and do my best on the test. The test is about Globalization, Population & Migration, and the CIA World Fact book. I’m feeling good about the globalization part of the test because I feel like that’s the easiest part of the test. But my teacher did say that it could be hard because I have to fill in the blank. The part I don’t look forward to is the World Fact book because we only have ten minutes to find certain things in the site and the amount of questions is a lot. The Population and Migration part will be okay it’s like in the middle of what I’m worried about for the test. Over all I think I’m going to do good on the test and be happy with the grade I will get.

Things About The World You May Not Know

Today in class I have learned so much more about the world and other places compared to us. One of the things I have learned is that the US doesn’t have the greatest number of cellular phones in the world. The country that is number one is actually China and the US is the fifth.  I was a little shocked because I thought the US would be the second or third but not fifth. Another interesting thing I have learned is that China has the most users with access to the internet then the US by a long shot. I have also learn that some internet things are blocked in china and you can only be on that website in the US like Facebook. In China people can’t go on Facebook, but they have a website just like. I’m so happy that I learned so much more today. I think it will come in handy later in life especially because the world is changing so fast so much. Probably in ten years so many new things will come into our lives and I can’t wait.

This is what i learned about and Population

Migration, what a topic, am I right? Well Friday that’s all we talked about and I got to learn so much more about it. For example Net Migration Rate is the difference between the number of persons entering and leaving a country during the year. An important thing a have learned is that net immigration is an excess of persons entering the country and net emigration is an excess of persons leaving the country. I have also learned that some people migrate here at the USA because there is economic opportunity and better health services. There is even freedom of religion and freedom of political here.

Another topic we discussed in class is about population. Did you know that for the population to remain the same the Total Fertility Rate (TFR) must be 2.1?  I also learned that higher than 2.1 the population rises. But if lower than 2.1 population fails, which I thought was very interesting. The world TFR is 2.42 but US TFR is 2.01 and last year it 2.06. I learned so much on Friday and I can’t wait to learn more next class.

Population and Settlement

In class today I have learned about the population. Did you know that there are over seven billion people on our planet right now? It also increasing by over seventy-three million per year and 140 per minute. The really cool thing is that 90% of this population growth takes place in developing countries of Africa, South and East Asia, and Latin America. Another thing I learned today is that crude birth rate is the number of births per 1000 of the population and the crude death rate is the number of deaths per 100 of the population. But maybe in twenty or thirty years people will have trouble with water. An interesting thing I have learned about is that Rate of Natural Increase (RN) is produced by subtracting the death rate from birth. This gives us the annual growth rate in percentage from – for a country or region. Today I have learned a lot about the world that I call my home and I’m so happy to know more about it.
